CODE OF CONDUCT

Tek-Oil Storage Terminals is built on more than physical infrastructure. The way we work, make decisions and treat people is fundamental to maintaining trust across our operations.

Our Code of Conduct sets the standards we expect from those who work for, represent or conduct business with Tek-Oil.

OUR STANDARD

Policies provide direction, but responsible conduct also depends on judgement. Everyone representing Tek-Oil is expected to act safely, lawfully, honestly and with consideration for the impact their decisions may have on colleagues, customers, business partners, communities and the environment.

The Code applies to day-to-day decisions as much as major commercial ones. No business objective, deadline or commercial opportunity justifies unsafe, dishonest or improper conduct.

SAFETY

Petroleum storage and terminal operations require constant attention to people, equipment and operating conditions. Everyone working within or around Tek-Oil operations is expected to follow applicable safety procedures, use required protective equipment and perform work only when it can be carried out responsibly.

Unsafe conditions, equipment failures, near misses and other safety concerns should never be ignored or concealed. Work should be paused where continuing would create an unreasonable risk to people, property or the environment.

BUSINESS INTEGRITY

Tek-Oil expects business decisions to be made fairly, transparently and for legitimate commercial reasons. Personal interests, improper payments, hidden incentives or misleading information should never influence a business decision.

Anti-Bribery and Corruption

Bribery, kickbacks, extortion and other forms of improper payment have no place in Tek-Oil's business. No person acting for Tek-Oil should offer, promise, give, request or accept anything intended to improperly influence a decision or secure an unfair advantage.

This expectation applies whether the benefit is offered directly or through an intermediary.

Gifts and Hospitality

Reasonable business hospitality may be appropriate in legitimate professional relationships, but gifts or entertainment must never be used to influence a decision improperly.

Anything excessive, secretive, unusually valuable or connected to a pending commercial decision should be avoided.

Conflicts of Interest

Personal relationships, financial interests or outside activities should not interfere with objective business judgement.

Anyone who becomes aware of an actual or potential conflict should disclose it through the appropriate internal channel rather than attempting to manage the conflict privately.

Fair Competition

Tek-Oil supports fair and legitimate competition. Commercial information should be obtained and used responsibly, and business should not be pursued through collusion, manipulation, deception or improper interference with competitors or customers.

PEOPLE

Tek-Oil expects people to be treated with dignity and professional respect. Decisions about work should be based on legitimate business requirements, capability, conduct and performance rather than intimidation, harassment or unfair treatment.

A safe workplace includes psychological and professional safety as well as physical safety. Threats, bullying, harassment, abusive behaviour and retaliation against a person who raises a genuine concern are inconsistent with the standards expected at Tek-Oil.

We expect

  • respectful communication
  • professional behaviour
  • fair treatment
  • responsible leadership
  • respect for individual dignity
  • cooperation across different backgrounds and roles

PEOPLE & WORK

Tek-Oil expects people working within its operations and business relationships to be treated lawfully and with respect for fundamental human dignity.

Forced labour, human trafficking, unlawful child labour, abusive treatment and other forms of exploitation are inconsistent with responsible business conduct.

Employment and contractor relationships should be managed in accordance with applicable employment, immigration, wage, working-time and workplace requirements relevant to the work being performed.

ENVIRONMENT

Petroleum storage and logistics involve responsibilities that extend beyond the terminal boundary. Tek-Oil expects operations to be conducted with care for land, water, air, neighbouring communities and the resources used in delivering our services.

Environmental risks should be identified, managed and reported. Spills, leaks, waste, abnormal emissions and other environmental incidents should be addressed promptly and through appropriate operational procedures.

  • Prevent spills and uncontrolled releases.
  • Handle waste responsibly.
  • Use materials and resources carefully.
  • Maintain equipment to reduce avoidable losses.
  • Report environmental incidents promptly.
  • Follow applicable environmental and operational requirements.

ASSETS & INFORMATION

Tek-Oil's physical assets, systems, commercial information and operational data support safe and reliable business activity. They should be used responsibly and protected from misuse, loss, unauthorised access or unnecessary disclosure.

Company Assets

Equipment, vehicles, facilities, systems, documents and other company resources should be used for legitimate purposes and handled with appropriate care.

Confidential Information

Non-public commercial, technical, customer, employee or operational information should only be accessed, used and shared where there is a legitimate reason to do so.

Cybersecurity

Passwords, devices, systems and digital access should be protected appropriately. Suspicious messages, unexpected access requests, possible security incidents and loss of company information should be reported promptly.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Business, operational, safety and financial records should be accurate, complete and prepared honestly.

Information must not be deliberately concealed, falsified, backdated or altered to create a misleading impression.

This principle applies to records such as operational reports, inspection information, expense claims, invoices, time records, incident documentation and other information created or maintained for legitimate business purposes.

BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS

Tek-Oil expects business relationships to be managed professionally and in good faith.

Customers, suppliers, contractors, agents and other business partners should be selected and managed using legitimate commercial considerations such as capability, safety, reliability, value, integrity and suitability for the required work.

Tek-Oil personnel should not knowingly use a third party to perform an action that would be improper if performed directly.

In our business relationships, we expect:

  • honest communication
  • respect for contractual responsibilities
  • responsible treatment of confidential information
  • appropriate safety standards
  • legitimate commercial practices
  • avoidance of bribery and improper influence
  • compliance with applicable requirements relevant to the work

LAWFUL BUSINESS

Cross-border storage, shipping, petroleum trading and logistics activities may be affected by customs requirements, trade controls, sanctions, import and export restrictions and other laws that vary by jurisdiction.

People acting for Tek-Oil should not intentionally structure transactions to evade applicable legal restrictions or conceal the identity, origin, destination or purpose of a transaction where such information is required.

Where a transaction creates uncertainty concerning applicable restrictions, appropriate guidance should be obtained before proceeding.

COMMUNITIES

Terminals operate as part of ports, industrial areas, transport networks and neighbouring communities. Tek-Oil expects decisions to consider the legitimate impact that operations may have beyond the facility boundary.

Community enquiries and concerns should be treated professionally. Activities affecting neighbouring areas should be managed responsibly and with appropriate regard for safety, environment and local requirements.

SPEAKING UP

Responsible conduct depends on people being willing to question unsafe, dishonest or inappropriate behaviour.

Anyone working for or representing Tek-Oil who becomes aware of a genuine concern should raise it through an appropriate reporting or management channel available to them.

Concerns may relate to safety, environmental incidents, harassment, fraud, bribery, conflicts of interest, misuse of information, falsification of records, security concerns or other conduct inconsistent with these standards.

Concerns should be raised honestly and in good faith. Deliberately false allegations or intentional misuse of a reporting process are themselves inconsistent with responsible conduct.

RESPONSIBILITY

A Code of Conduct cannot anticipate every situation. When the correct course of action is unclear, the decision should be considered against a simple standard:

Is it safe?

Is it lawful?

Is it honest?

Would we be comfortable explaining the decision openly?

If the answer to one of these questions is uncertain, guidance should be sought before proceeding.

HOW WE WORK

Tek-Oil's reputation is shaped by the decisions made across its operations every day. Safe work, honest business, responsible operations and respect for people are not separate from performance — they are part of how sustainable performance is achieved.
